Deborah has been teaching folk dance since 1990; her interest focused on traditional Italian and French repertoires. After dancing in the Occitan valleys of Piedmont, she fell in love with the dances from beyond the Alps. With her backpack on, she travels across Europe in search of inspiration and knowledge to learn more about the dances and their cultures.
She combines her artistic interests and her specific training skills (she’s a teacher!!), thinking on dance teaching techniques and trying to create a positive learning environment.
She is in the organizing committee of the Gran Bal Trad and teaches dance classes weekly with Biella Trad, a cultural association dedicated to the promotion of traditional music and culture.
She also deepens the repertoire of couple dances in balfolk with specific attention to dialogue and sharing between dancers and offers the specific workshop Dancing together: a possible alchemy.
