Paranza Mediterranea is a musical and cultural project involving artists from different backgrounds, united by the desire for research and the idea of integrating a repertoire deeply inspired by and faithful to the traditional music of their land, particularly Campania, and the entire South of Italy.
The defining feature of this musical project is the use of instruments from the southern folk tradition that seem to underscore the rhythm of the heart, blending with the skillful use of more contemporary instruments.
Paranza Mediterranea has performed numerous shows and participated in national and international festivals dedicated to balfolk over the past 20 years. What makes this artistic and musical endeavor unique is the dedicated and constant presence of its members at the traditional festivals of our “Campania felix” where the sacred and the profane coexist, and where the ritual of dance and music is perpetually renewed within the enchantment of its embracing circle.
Among musicians who depart and others who join, despite a solid core group, the sounds of this original and unique Paranza evolve without betraying the initial calling for which this formation was born: the transmission of love for the music and folk dance that we experience in the naturalness of our daily lives, always embracing new challenges and horizons.
