Ballade Ballade Bois, a group founded in 2009 by Carlo Boeddu, aims to spread the rhythm of traditional Sardinian music to the places and the people, in a different way than the “classic” one-played by a single instrument, usually the accordion or the launeddas.
Their horizons widened after the first few years and the desire to share the beautiful Sardinian dances with the world, outside the borders of the island, exploded through a traditional dances teaching project.
Despite the original line-up and the fact that in recent years many young people have given life to similar formations, the group keeps their ancestors in great consideration: “We all have a strong appreciation for the rich musical history of the island, preserved by thousands of professional and amateur recordings”. In fact their philosophy is clear: “Only by confronting the creativity and genius of the past masters we can find the stimulus to grow musically, together with daily practice on the instrument in order to find the right energy and emotion for the dance”.
